　　I am Li Ming, your prospective roommate, and so glad I am to share an apartment with you. I am writing this letter to tell you about my living habits as well as ask for your advice on my living there.

　　The above bar chart precisely reflects the change of urban and rural population in China over the past 20 years. As is depicted in the chart, from 1990 to 2010, the urban population increased drastically, changing from 300 million to 670 million, while the rural population witnessed a moderate decrease, changing from 830 million to some 680million. What the figure conveys is thought-provoking and far-reaching.

　　Though the causes for the phenomenon may be very complex, there are three main factors which can account for it. The primary one is that the 21st century has witnessed the unparallel economic prosperity and social progress in China. Another factor that we shouldn’t overlook is that people’s traditional values and ethics have changed drastically. Last but not least, the build of cities also contributes to this matter, which has lured increasing number of population from the countries pour into the city.

　　As discussed above, it is no surprise to see this situation. And I firmly believe that this established trend will continue and due importance should continue be placed on the factors that lead to the trend in the forthcoming years.
