　　"Life， liberty and the pursuit of happiness。" The authors of the American Declaration proclaimed happiness to be one of the essential rights that make life worth living。 William James， the first American psychologist， echoed this emphasis on happiness: "If we were to ask the question: 'What is human life's chief concern? One of the answers we should receive would be: 'It is happiness。'" Every philosophical and religious system has offered its pathway to happiness for the individual and the group。 Happiness has been related to pleasure， refuge from pain， intellectual contemplation， union with God， friendship， children， wealth， honor， successful activity， and even state burial with statues! Today， scientists have joined the dialogue to seek answers about what contributes to happiness or， as they call it， "subjective well-being"。

Maybe I am too fragile ,easy to be hurt .When I stayed in a corner and was so scared, a friend of mine came to me ,and said : In this world, nothing can daunt us, in addition to our own. 　　When the salesgirl had finally written out the bill and was about to turn to the next customer with a tired voice。 "Thank you very much， madam，" the old lady suddenly cried out， "Oh， I almost forgot。。。"——"Anything else， madam?" said the girl， "Yes，" began the old lady， "I＇d like to buy another pair， but I＇ m not quite sure about what exactly I should cloose。 I wonder if you could help me。" "Certainly， madam"， was the girl＇s reply。 The old lady then went on to explain that what she was looking for was a pair of gloves for a girl of her age。 She was not at ail sure what color to choose， and the design was a problem too。

　　At last the chosen pair of gloves were wrapped up and paid for as well， and as the girl was about to turn to the next customer， the old lady handed her a little parcel and said， "These now， dear， these are for you and thank you for being so patient。 I do hope you have a merry Christmas !"

　　年少轻狂，纵心知，然每于行，或尝抱怨，指责不休。但每思过，食日难改。随年龄之长，渐晓之，父之伟大，一人活一家，不易之极。虽年龄近半百，因为尘世之奔波，夜替子女分忧！父虽凡而伟，虽矮而高，虽老而盛…………吾之偶像！去年六月，逢吾高考，父重病患绝症无从医治。大夫曰：熬不过半载。吾知此事，心如刀割，终日哭哭啼啼，故厌学。然父曰：此乃命也，命薄，短寿，怪不得何人许？为父心痛吾儿未婚，吾女未嫁，龄甚小，上有老，下有小，父之使命未完成也！若离去，妻儿何过？

　　公元两千一十四年十一月二十日，父忍痛离世，狠心舍妻儿。吾在外地，未见最后一面，心痛。乃大哭，父养育之恩，今生儿无以回报，此乃儿之憾也！

　　吾终不忘，今又是父亲佳节，儿唯有以书信抒情，方能解愧，大爱无言亦无疆，吾之生如父亲，不易善言，内向如他。心中，突然偶闪佳句：‘’世界上最美丽的字眼就是母亲。纪伯伦之语可谓入木三分。而吾认为，则是父亲。

　　Since I go to middle school, I start to become independent. I am not a little girl anymore, and I can make my own decision. My parents always get used to do everything for me, but I tell them that I can do it myself. Then my parents are very happy. They no longer make every decision for me and they will ask my opinion. I feel being respected and it is so good for me. Growing up means taking the responsibility and being considerate of others. I try not be childish and think in a mature way. Now everybody respects me and they are willing to listen to my idea. This is the happiness of growing up.
