  steve: what's new mike?

mike : nothing really. work is really getting me down though.

steve: cheer up buddy. it couldn't be that bad.

mike : it is. i have my annual performance review coming up this week.

steve: well, that doesn't sound like a disaster. have you been putting in lately?

mike : you'd better believe it. i have been working from 7am to 7pm every day.

steve: i am sure that the management will notice then.

mike : maybe not. my new boss really doesn't like me at all.

steve: look on the bright side - if it goes well, you will get a pay rise and then you can buy me dinner!

mike : thanks for being so optimistic, steve. you're a good friend indeed.
