2016年美国研究生商科之信息系统专业，美国管理信息系统专业申请过程中涉及到三个问题：MIS的研究方向，考GMAT还是GRE，课程设置上有很大区别吗?这三个问题对学生的定位、择校起到很大的作用。
一、研究方向
MIS专业主要有三个方向：图书管理、理工学院下面信息决策(偏重数学)、商学院(分为管理类和 MBA类，MBA要求要有工作经验)。就美国目前的 MIS 教育状况而言，MIS主要涉及以下一些专业领域：
信息系统(Information Systems )：包括 Data Communication、Database、Programming Language、Client/Server Computing、System Analysis and Design等内容。
管理科学(Management Sciences )：包括 Mathematical Programming、Optimization、Operation Research等内容。
生产运营管理(Production and Operations Management )：包括 Decision Theory、Organization Theory等内容。
统计学(Statistics )
其它专业领域：包括 Marketing、Finance、Management、Accounting、Business Law、Economics 等。
二、GMAT还是GRE?
MIS的申请者几乎都会问这个问题：“我到底是考GMAT还是GRE啊?”如果你有信心、有精力、有能力两项都考并取得可用成绩的话，建议你两项都考。原因很简单，既有GMAT也有GRE的.可用成绩的话，我们在学校的选择上可以做到通杀。但只有很少一部分申请者可以达到这样的要求。
那么对于无法兼顾两项考试的申请者来说，选择就显得比较重要了。GMAT or GRE我们选哪个?首先你要明白你自己的目标到底是什么，自己有什么样的条件。你不妨用SWOT分析法来全面剖析一下自己。第二、在全面分析自己之后，你会很清楚自己到底要往哪个方向发展，研究还是管理?一旦明白这一点之后，就不会再为考什么考试而烦恼。因为，不管哪个学校，只要是商学院下开设了这个专业 的都接受GMAT，而在非商学院如信息学院、理工学院下开设的则都接受GRE。当然也有部分学校是两者都接受。
三、课程设置上区别大吗?
这里拿两所有代表性学校的课程设置做一下对比：
