Thomas Edison is a good case in point to illustrate the importance of facing challenges with perseverance. He had done a lot of experiments before the first long-lasting light bulb came into being. Among those experiments, there were thousands times of failure. If he had chosen to give up, he wouldn’t have brought so many revolutionary inventions to the world. His life is the best evidence to prove that accepting challenges and triumphing over difficulties are what life is all about.
As for myself, I still remember the first time I learned to ride a bicycle when I was eight. My father kept his hands on the back of the bicycle to help me. Killing Time Indoors
Nowadays a growing number of people, especially the 20s or 30s, tend to stay indoors for most of their spare time, especially on holidays. Some spend the majority of the time online chatting, blogging, shopping, dating or playing computer games. Some sit with their eyes glued to the television screen, day and night.
People's opinions vary when it comes to this way of killing time. A great number of people maintain that staying indoors is cheap, comfortable, and most importantly, very safe. Others, however, frown upon staying indoors for too long. They are worried that lack of physical exercise and face-to-face communication with others will do harm to people’s body and mind.
Personally, I don't think staying indoors for most of the day should be advocated. Instead, people in all ages, their physical conditions permitting, should be encouraged to spend more time outdoors. The brilliant sunshine, the pleasant green space, the interactions with other people, etc. are all good for people's health, both physically and psychologically.

Here I can think of no better illustration of the proverb than the experience of my own. Though performing well enough in the college entrance exam, I was only provided with the opportunity to enroll in a second-class university. However, I did not lose my heart. Instead, I found the remoteness and quietness of the campus a favorable condition for my study. In terms of English, I have passed CET-4 with a high score. Now I believe I can do the same with my CET-6.
